Making Memories and final expenses

Donation protected

They gave me at most 5 years to live.

I’m 2 years in. I plan to make the best out of every second I have left. There are things I want to do still! There are places I want to see! There are trips I need with my kids. There are memories to be made to leave with them.

The problem? I’m single and living on social security. I’m not complaining. I’m alive for now and get to see my kids but I want them to remember the good times and not the bad!

I want to see Yellowstone. (The park, not the show). I want to see Niagara Falls! I want to see the Grand Canyon. I want to hit as many national parks as I can while I’m still able! Colon cancer may get me in the end but I want to make sure it knew I lived!

My name is Rebecca. I was diagnosed in 2018 with stage 3 Colon cancer and then upgraded to stage 4 in August 2020. I have a 17 year old son named Damien and an 18 year old daughter named Paige. I am on chemo for life. I have always hated asking for help but have had to learn to rely on it the last few years. A couple months ago my social security disability was approved and that covers my bills but nothing else.

I have worked all my life from the time I was young so not working is new to me. I know most people hate law enforcement these days but I dedicated my life to it. I always wanted to help people and have fond memories of those I did get to help. I spend my free time now painting and getting fat when I’m not with the kids. Before all fundraisers were made to cover bills but now I’m setting this up to make memories as well. To be able to leave those I love with good memories of travel and fun times and not the sick and sad times with just memories of loss.

I had a hip procedure a while back where they did a biopsy of my bone marrow and the fluid in my hip. It came back as adenocarcinoma in the synovial fluid on top of the already stage 4 metastatic colon cancer that’s KRAS positive. This type of metastasis is so rare that not only has my doctor never seen it from the medical journal papers I’ve found there has been only 15 known cases of it in colon cancer and only 40 cases documented throughout all cancers. There has been only one other case documented to where it was found in a replacement joint. I guess I’m lucky number 2. There isn’t anything known to treat this type of cancer. I have another PET Scan on Thursday to see if anything has changed but as of right now this is where I’m at. The chemo won’t treat it but I’m still taking chemo to combat the liver tumors and the abdomen lymph node metastasis. My pain level in my hip and lower back has increased significantly and it doesn’t help that there isn’t any cartilage left in my left knee on the same side as the bad hip. Leave it to me to get something rare and untreatable lol. I’ve always said I’m a walking disaster, this just proves it.

There isn’t much known about the newest addition to my cancer so I would like to get my funeral paid off while I can so that it’s not a worry for my family sooner rather than later.
