Rebeccah (Becca)'s Leg Surgeries

Rebeccah (Becca) is a hard-working single mom. Her life revolves around her family and friends. If she knows of a need, she helps. If someone needs a listening ear, she’s there. She is always giving of herself. Anastasia, her daughter, is just like her mother; loving, caring, friendly, selfless.
A few months ago, Becca had an unknown problem with her leg. Over that time, he has seen several doctors, gone to clinics many times, and even been in the hospital. Finally, she visited a wound specialist and discovered she has what is known as “the silent killer.” (Blood clots from burst varicose veins) She needs a series of six surgeries immediately.
The first is scheduled for May 8, 2019. Becca doesn’t have medical insurance and the specialist is not covered by emergency Medicaid, so she needs $18,000 just for the procedures. This doesn’t cover loss of income from the 12 days she will need to be out of work (the day of surgery and the day following) over the six surgeries or for the last few months of outstanding medical bills.
“The Silent Killer” is so named because there is no notice, no preventatives, and once the blood clots start, the only way to get them out is surgery. Once they travel to a vital organ, they cause the organ to fail. According to the Doppler tests done, blood clots are already traveling toward Becca’s vital organs – hence the immediacy. She needs the surgeries now. The specialist told her that if this isn’t done, the blood clot will kill her. The specialist said this usually happens in people older than 55, but she has seen a few other cases with patients as young as Becca.
Becca has taken out a loan to cover part of the first surgery to get things started. She needs the help of us, her family and friends and those who know her. We need to pray for success and donate if we can to assist in the financial burden.
