I'm making a 16mm film loop. I'm using the same machine that the original Star Wars was made on- thats analog after affects frame by frame! I'm an artist.
not the boring kind, not the socialite kind, not the talking more than doing kind. Im the work work work work work make make make make ART kind! This past few months I have been very greatful to have the opportunity to work on a project that has taken me 12 hrs a day to complete, literally. Thats a lot of work with no pay. Unfortunately my bank account is now at sub zero. I am looking for people who might be interested to support an artist like me, and recieve updates, letters, and small artworks in the mail. Perhaps a printout of a film still. Im a darn good person. I am driven. I am commited to creating projects and realizing the ideas that I have in my head. I love to figure things out, ask questions, learn new techniques, reflect on the world. If you appreciate the arts, and are interested to stimulate the creative endevours that are only possible with time and financial support... then this is for you! My work is studio based, which includes handmade films on 16mm, sculpture, and installation. These items are not traditionally very easy to sell in galleries or exhibitions. But not everything in life was meant to be a commodity! At the moment I am hoping to earn enough money to complete my "projected painting" film loop project with an optical soundtrack, two screening prints, and digital transfer. This piece is shot frame by frame, hand colored with filters from black and white original. We are talking labor intensive- very intricate work but very rewarding. Did I mention each object is shot seperately and rephotographed through color filters FRAME BY FRAME. Painstaking and Delightful at the same time. After all this work, its nearly ready to go out into the world... but that requires copies, a digital scan, and a soundtrack! yeah! Help me make that happen!
