Hi- Becca here. On January 6, 2023 I underwent my 4th surgery for Endometriosis. Unfortunately there were complications during this surgery and my small bowel was perforated twice. I spent most of my time after surgery in and out of the Emergency Department pleading for help as I knew something very wrong was happening inside my body. I was finally admitted to the hospital on 01/11/2023 in a near death state. I underwent an emergent Laparotomy on admission in which a section of my small bowel had to be permanently removed. When I woke from surgery I discovered that the infection inside my abdomen was so significant that my abdomen had to be left open. As of writing this on 01/21/2023 my abdomen has still not been able to be fully closed and I remain in the hospital. It will be a long road to recovery with many unknowns remaining. I am starting this fundraiser to help lessen the financial burden of the medical bills and the financial burden of not being able to work until recovered. Any donation, of any amount, is very much appreciated and will help lessen some of the stress and anxiety as I heal and navigate recovery.
