After a rush of blood to the head, and possibly a couple of glasses of wine, I decided it would be a really good idea to run the Ilkley Half Marathon on 13th July 2025.

I couldn’t do this without my partner in crime, Gill Batts KC, so managed to rope her in as well.

As I have begun to take an active part in the NEC Diversity Committee, particularly in the Outreach programme, I wanted to do this for something that would inspire me to train (a bit) and to drag myself around 13 miles in the July heat.

So, I have decided to run to raise funds for the NEC Diversity Scholarship.

I don’t need to tell you all what a brilliant charity this is and the priceless opportunities that it offers.

Anything that you can spare would be really appreciated, if everyone on the NEC gave just £1 we would make our target.

And, if you would like to come and support us on the day, we would love that too.
