Rebecca Bailey medical relief
Donation protected
This is my daughter, Rebecca. She is the mother of one little boy who recently celebrated his first birthday & she is 6 months pregnant with her second son. Rebecca is a registered nurse at a local hospital & has been there 5 years. When COVID impacted the local community the floor she worked on became the Covid unit. At the time she was pregnant with her 1st son, she continued to work in that unit until her doctor thought it was to risky. When she returned from maternity leave she has been floated in & out of that unit because of her experience. There the nurses & doctors have faced a lot of death & grieving families that has impacted them all. On Thursday, May 20 when she ended her 7pm shift she stopped by a restaurant to pick dinner up on her way home. When she got out of her car she had a seizure & was transported to the very hospital she works at. Upon arrival Rebecca experienced more seizures that rendered her unable to speak or see. For the safety of her & the baby she was moved to ICU where she was intubated. After the doctors consulted with Duke it was decided she would be life flighted there. They were able to extubate her once stabilized, Rebecca experienced more seizures while at Duke. During her 5 day stay she was moved from ICU Neuro to the labor & delivery floor where her and the baby both could be safely monitored. The doctors have determined the type of seizures she’s experiencing and awaiting insurance approval to see a doctor who specializes in them. Rebecca will be out of work at the least a month until released by the specialist & will be out of work again a few months after that for the birth of her son. Her PTO & short term disability will be exhausted quickly leaving her husband the only one bringing in income. My daughter has impacted a lot of lives over her almost 25 years of life through the many friendships she’s formed, the job she held through high school & through her job as a nurse. Rebecca is a born nurturer making her a compassionate care giver & she is beautiful inside & out. Rebecca could use during this time some assistance with the travel to see the specialist, everyday expenses & medical bills. She feels very undeserving of such help but her family and friends would have to disagree with that. I thank you from her entire family, if you are able to make a donation & for the continued prayers for her & the baby. Even if you are unable to make a donation please share.
