Hello, we are friends of someone in need and we truly appreciate you giving the time to read this.

We write on behalf of Rebecca Santana and her little girl, Matilda, “Tilly”. They were devastated recently by the huge flood and mud mass that hit certain parts of the Coachella Valley in the California desert communities. Rebecca and Tilly’s was hit particularly hard. Their home and the homes of their neighbors were made unlivable within hours. Luckily, Rebecca and Tilly were rescued in the middle of the night by Cathedral City Police and Cathedral City Fire. We are so grateful to them!

Rebecca is a single mother who teaches elementary school and has worked very hard to own her home. Tilly is a highly intelligent and lively little girl and a great student. We are a close circle of friends who love them very much. Luckily, they found temporary housing with friends as the house currently has no utilities, walls, floors, kitchen or furniture!

Rebecca carries insurance but it is by no means enough. Some repair and remediation estimates have been inflated and unfair. Friends have helped where they could, but most of the extensive work required needs professionals and the furniture and appliances need to be replaced.

This woman is a giver, a constant friend, mother and daughter and a present and loving member of her community. We are asking for contributions of any size to reestablish Rebecca and Tilly in their home.
