Sweet Reba Baby has been fighting a tough battle the past month with many tests, biopsies, prescriptions, and vet visits but very few answers… somehow she has managed to keep her bright, spunky, playful energy through it all!

After yet another emergency vet visit last night, we finally have an idea of what Reba’s been dealing with. Her blood test results came back showing a near zero count of platelets - almost no white blood cells at all. They have figured it out to be an autoimmune disorder, meaning her immune system has been attacking itself.

The hopeful news is that the vet has ordered IV immune suppressive medication, steroids, ultrasounds, and diligent monitoring during her hospital stay. The vet says she is on the right track!

If you know Kassia, you know Reba. From the moment Kassia fostered her - they became a pair you can’t picture apart. Reba is her shadow, her comfort, her joy, and a huge part of all our lives too!

Even with pet insurance, the vet bills, and Kassia having to take some time off of work- the emotional and financial strain has reached a point where we are reaching out to friends, family, and the community for support.
