Gregor is 12 and lives with a very rare disease which shows as autism, epilepsy and significant developmental delays.
As a result Gregor can’t go to school or have any friends.
He cannot speak in sentences for himself and is often overwhelmed by his surroundings — but animals feel him, see him, and calm him in a way humans often can’t.
They bring him the love and connection he so desperately needs and so seldomly gets outside his close family.
His seizures are unpredictable and can happen without warning.
An assistance dog can alert before a seizure, stay with him during and after, help regulate his emotions, reduce fear, and most importantly in between the horrors of seizure the dog gives him the stability he needs to be in the world safely, with a present, loving and non judgmental companion at his side.
Only a handful associations worldwide provide assistance dogs for older children like Gregor, since the specialized training is long and costly.
Having such an opportunity would shape his life forever; since every tiny bit of autonomy and self regulation can keep him from living with mind altering medication or worse living in a mental facility.
With your help, we can offer him a connection that would be a chance at life.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for giving Gregor this chance.
