Hi, my name is Evelyn, and I’m reaching out with a cause that’s incredibly close to my heart.

During my time in Cambodia, I had the opportunity to volunteer as an English teacher at a school dedicated to educating children from underprivileged backgrounds — completely free of charge. This gave me the opportunity to collaborate with local educators, including Reaksmy, who has started construction on his own school with the intention of educating the disadvantaged  children within the community.

Many communities in Cambodia depend on tourism for their livelihoods, which makes learning English not just a skill, but a necessity. It can mean the difference between a life of struggle and a life with opportunity. These children are bright, eager, and full of potential — they just need the tools to succeed.

Right now, the school is facing several urgent challenges. The classrooms are extremely basic, and the school is frequently affected by flooding during the rainy season. There is no proper flooring to prevent water from coming in, and they are in desperate need of essential resources like whiteboards, books, school supplies, and safer learning environments.

I’m helping to raise funds to support this school — not for profit, not for personal gain, but because these children deserve a chance. A chance to learn, to grow, and to build a better future for themselves and their families.
