Reagan Elizabeth French - A Life Lost Too Soon
On October 29, 2020 our Rea of Sunshine left this world. She was only 15 years
old. As you can imagine, her loss has left a hole in our hearts and we are trying to
navigate a world without Reagan. Our family is devastated and lost. Though are
hearts are heavy with grief, we are determined to focus on her bright spirit and
her kind and loving heart. We’d love to share her story now so that we can
celebrate her life with you.
Reagan never had a greater joy in life then when opening gifts. She never
received a bad present. Her face would light up, showing the world those precious dimples, her bright brown eyes, and then she’d offer a huge hug.
She was open to trying new things - especially food! Reagan was adventurous in
the culinary world. The first to try to new things and dive right in - that was our
girl. Though we were still working on cooking and cleaning up afterwards.
Her adventurous spirit also led her to night drives with her mom. They would
drive through the countryside telling scary stories and looking for haunted places to explore. The Best Mom Ever: that’s how she saved her mom’s contact info. A
momma’s girl through-and-through, her mom was always her soft place to land.
Nothing was more exciting than crawling onto the couch with a soft
blanket, watching the latest spooky movie or show with our family especially her scaredy-cat little sister.
She loved to cuddle until she fell asleep. Then, she’d quickly kick you out of bed so she could sleep peacefully.
Reagan loved dancing, music, and the arts. She spent hours with her sisters and family learning the latest tiktok dance trends and new music. K-pop was her favorite and she could sing along with the music all day. One of her goals was to learn every language of the world. Drawing, painting, pottery, she dove right in. Reagan loved to create new worlds to explore. Her favorite was fashion design. She also had a love of making slime!
Our girl loved to swim. She never turned down a trip to the lake or the pool and
would spend hours in the water.
She had more energy than most kids her age, but man getting her out of bed was a nightmare (just like her mom). Reagan preferred a soft bed and warm blanket until she decided it was time to get up.
From cats and dogs to leeches and snakes, Reagan was determined to save their
lives. Our family can’t think of one animal she didn’t love. She volunteered at a
local animal shelter and loved to help with the cats. She was a hard worker but
always had fun.
She was brave. Overcoming her fear of needles to pierce her ears, she powered
through. Our Reagan achieved so many things and was very determined. Never lacking in imagination and spirit, she had so many dreams and goals and she never hesitated to dive in and try to accomplish them.
The circumstances are ever evolving but the one thing that remains is our love forReagan. Our plans to are to use the funds to pay for her after-life arrangements and her Celebration of Life event. Any remaining funds will be used to help with grief-counseling for her siblings and a donation toward suicide prevention.
