Cyrus Hostetler's Road to Rio
I am Cyrus Hostetler. I just made my 2nd Olympic Team this year and won the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials in the javelin!
Two years ago I moved to california to be apart of the Olympic Training Center in San Diego. It was a sacrifice I knew I needed to make in order to make the Olympics in 2016. After one year in the program USATF told that I was not good enough and removed me from the program.
I was battling injuries but they didnt seem to care. I had a torn labrum and rotator cuff in my shoulde, which usually is a career ending injury in the javelin. But I wasnt going to quit. I was determined to show the world my potential, but it meant I am doing it all on my own.
