Courtyard LA is one of Los Angeles's smaller independent factories recently approved by Mayor Garcetti's team to emergently produce a large number of medical garments and supplies desperately needed in record speed.   In order for us to help,

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We are currently all set to go safely and swiftly!  Our team is stationed according to Osha and Covid guidelines but we are sitting here waiting for orders. All smaller approved Los Angeles factories are not linked up with bulk orders or payment upfront to cover our costs for our workers' pay, fabric, and rents.

We are registered on an approved list from the city that can be issued to anyone seeking bulk orders but they have to choose us and order. With that setup, we simply won't have the time to have the pieces made for our friends, loved ones and people who are out there risking their health to still provide their communities with much-needed goods and services. It's the difference between having hundreds and thousands of pieces finished in 5-7 days or waiting 3-6 weeks. At that rate, none of us can help in a timely fashion..pun intended.

WHAT WILL WE BE MAKING

We have the capacity, staff and approved patterns for masks for both hospitals and essential workers, hospital sheets, gowns, pillowcases and other items that are either out or running so low on supply that most staff are currently without or have extended the wear of used materials long passed the recommended mark.

WHAT'S OUR PLAN

We will be starting with the cotton fabrics we have remaining from our own designs come this Monday, April 6th. We have contacted a local fabric supplier who can help us restock by day 3 and our cutter who is also local will open his doors one day a week to bulk cut for us and a few other brands.  We are aiming to hit our goal by April 12th.

Even with recent news of imported supplies on their way in, it is only a fraction of what's really needed.  We are looking to produce anywhere from 1,000 - 10,000 pieces a week but we currently can't take this feat on without going into the negative financially. This is a reality for us and most independent factories that choose to stay small in order to provide fair wages, a clean and healthy environment, and a livelihood that anyone can be proud of. By helping us reach our goal you are directly funding:

ESTIMATE BASED ON APPROXIMATELY 20,000 PIECES
Our goal is under our estimated costs and approximately based on the demand of varying supplies

- Purchase of fabrics for Covid19 gear ($5,000)
- Ensuring the pay of sewing crew when we are facing little to no profit in this  ( $10,000 - $30,000)
- Purchase of manufacturing license needed for this scale (approximately $1,000)
- Any remaining extra will go towards our monthly rent which is ($4, 817 mo)
- If successful, we can then spill over to support other small factories

If given a chance, we want you to be a part of our team who is now ready to jump in a very real crisis.

We are stepping into the fire, we just need you to hold the water so we don't get burned.
