Hi, my name is Lydia and I am a final year Creative Direction student. Read, Set, Smile! is my final major project and the biggest body of work I have created so far.

This film focuses on women and the pressure to constantly perform, appear put together, and smile through discomfort. I want to take a different approach by making the invisible labor women carry seen, especially the emotional and mental work that often goes unnoticed. The film explores what it means to be camera ready at all times and questions why this expectation is so normalized.

This project is personal and visually driven, and it reflects the themes I have been developing throughout my degree. The funds raised will go directly toward production costs including equipment, set design, styling, catering, and travel. Any support helps me bring this project to life at the level it deserves and allows me to graduate with a body of work that truly represents my creative voice.
