On Monday, 24th November, the Reading YMCA FC football pitch and the adjacent fence were subjected to severe vandalism. This act resulted in considerable damage to the fence, the playing surface, and one of the goals.
As a volunteer-led team, they devote an immense amount of time, effort, and resources into creating and maintaining what they believe is one of the finest pitches for their level in the Berkshire area. Naturally, they are heartbroken by this setback.
The damage caused has not only devastated the playing surface but also presents a significant financial challenge for the club, as they are now faced with the cost and logistics of making the necessary repairs.
Despite this unfortunate event, they are determined to restore the playing area and fence. Their aim is to bring the playing area back to its former condition and have it ready for play in the New Year.
