Readers for Palestine - Support the people of Gaza
Donation protected
They’re starving. Not because they did something wrong - but because the world looked away.
Right now, in Gaza, families are being bombed, displaced, starved, and denied basic human rights.
The book community cannot stand idle during this humanitarian emergency.
Hospitals are collapsing. The elderly, women, men, and children are dying - not just from attacks, but from hunger, dehydration, and the lack of access to medical care.

Skip the cost of a book, a coffee, or a takeaway - and donate that money to Gaza instead.
My name is Katie, and I am a book content creator from the UK. I created this campaign to raise awareness for the crisis in Gaza and encourage the book community to use their platforms and get involved.
Instead of doing nothing, I am using my voice to raise awareness for the people of Palestine and help raise funds to basic human necessities.
Readers for Palestine is a digital campaign encouraging people to skip a small purchase, like a coffee, a book, or a meal, and donate that money to Gaza.
It’s simple:
Don’t buy a book
Donate the cost
Reallocate, Post, and Reflect
Tag 3 friends to do the same

Where Will Your Donation Go?
This GoFundMe tracks the collective fundraising efforts of the book community, ensuring your donation reaches those in urgent need. All funds will be withdrawn and distributed manually by the organiser.
The breakdown is as follows:
50% – Direct support to Hala Shaheen and her family in Gaza
25% – Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF)
25% – Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP)
Meet Hala: A Fellow Reader in Gaza
Hala Shaheen is a reader, book content creator, and part of our global community. She lives in Gaza with her nine family members, including her parents, two brothers (Ibrahim and Mohammed), four sisters (Heba, Hadeel, Hanaa, and Haya), and their seven beloved cats.
Forced to flee their home, they now face extreme hardship - with little to no access to clean water, food, or shelter. Your donation will help them secure basic essentials, including water, food, and a tent.
The funds will be donated to Hala's SpotFund and her friend Kenia in the US will facilitate the transfer of funds to cover our daily expenses, ensuring that help reaches us promptly.
As of April 25th 2025, food the blockade of the boarder crossing means aid cannot reach the people of Gaza. Markets are now the only source of food, and groceries have become inferable due to extreme shortage and inflation.
Instead of buying a new book today, donate that cost to Hala and her family.
Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF)
PCRF provides critical medical care and humanitarian relief to children in Gaza and across the Middle East. Their work includes sending volunteer surgeons, delivering aid, and operating pediatric cancer and mental health programs. They’re known for transparency and long-standing impact, especially in crisis zones.
Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP)
MAP delivers life-saving medical aid, supplies, and healthcare support to Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, and refugee camps. During the blockade, they’ve focused on getting essential supplies to hospitals and supporting frontline medical workers under siege conditions.
The fund raised will be directly donated to the charities websites:
