Read it and Weep Theatre Company

Hi, we are Read it and Weep Theatre Company, a diverse group of women and non-binary theatre-makers who are currently studying at the University of Portsmouth. Over the coming months, we will be holding exciting fundraisers to raise money and support to aid in producing our debut performance. This will be around the end of April (date TBC) and will showcase our work as a feminist and inclusive project on deconstructing the male gaze.

Our content will refocus marginalised groups through first-hand perspectives and actively reject stereotypical portrayals within the musical theatre canon.

Our objective is to push the boundaries of discomfort and vulnerability to create a reflective environment for the audience. Through an aesthetic-driven approach, our work captivates and stimulates each sense through a wide range of performance mediums such as dance, music, and spoken word.
