Sri Lanka is currently facing severe flooding, leaving many families displaced from their homes and in urgent need of basic essentials. Entire communities are struggling without adequate food, clean drinking water, clothing, bedding and medical supplies.

We are in direct contact with a trusted individual on the ground in Sri Lanka who is actively supporting displaced families. Funds raised will be sent directly to them to purchase and distribute essential relief items immediately.

To help raise these funds, my daughter has chosen a challenge that reflects something she loves — reading. Over the next four weeks, she will complete 10 books as part of her “Read for Relief” challenge. We are inviting supporters to contribute £2 per book, or whatever they feel able to give, in support of her effort and to help families affected by the floods.

This challenge gives her the opportunity to make a positive difference while doing something meaningful and consistent. We will share weekly updates on the books she completes, along with information and (where possible) photos from Sri Lanka showing how your donations are being used on the ground.
