Read Easy Islington aims to offer personal reading coaching to any adult in the London Borough of Islington who wants to learn to read. We estimate that there could be between 8,000 and 12,000 residents in the borough with low literacy skills who are in need of support.

Our coaching service is free, confidential and delivered one-to-one, thus overcoming potential embarrassment and anxiety about not being able to read and enabling new readers to learn at their own pace.

Read Easy Islington is affiliated to Read Easy UK , uses the reading system recommended by Read Easy UK and follows its policies and procedures. However, Read Easy Islington does not receive any funding from the national organisation and is run entirely by volunteers.

Money raised by Read Easy Islington is used to fund coaches' training, DBS checks for coaches, reading and coaching materials, venue hire, volunteer expenses and office and publicity costs.
