Reactica 2026 is partially funded out of pocket, so any donations would be appreciated to help further cover flights, meals, materials, and other travel accommodations for the team!

If you've ever been fascinated by giant domino chains and chain reaction machines, then you can see the largest live domino and machine build in California at Reactica, an annual event hosted in San Jose, CA. Every year since 2016, the team has spent one week setting up dominoes and machines and connecting them into one continuous build - then toppling that giant build for a live audience. Previous events had hundreds of live spectators, an annual YouTube video with tens of thousands of views, and coverage by local Bay Area news outlets like San Jose Mercury News, ABC7, and KTVU 2.

2026 marks Reactica's 11th year, with this year bringing a team of 11 builders and a goal of 40,000 dominoes and 300 chain reaction machine steps. The theme of Reactica 2026 is "The Great Adventure": the build will follow one ball as it bounces and rolls through the entire setup, interacting with all the other objects along the way! This ball will be both the starting and ending point of the entire build, while everything along the way will depict the ball's adventure.

The Reactica team is comprised of seasoned builders that have also helped many other teams create live domino and machine exhibits across the globe. Members of the team have built domino and machine themed commercials for clients like Coca-Cola, Pizza Hut, Gilette, Disney World, Sylvania, McDonalds, and Golden State Warriors. Part of the Reactica team even participated in Domino Masters on FOX, a primetime reality TV competition show hosted by Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family) that brought dominoes and machines to the big screen.

Come visit the team from July 12 to July 17 to watch the buildup, and July 18 at 1:00 pm to watch the topple. We welcome all domino and machine community builders, kinetic art enthusiasts, visiting families, and members at The Tech Interactive to watch it all go down!
