Reach the Peak for ReWild Wicklow
Donation protected
We're very excited to announce our first fundraising event!
This will be a sponsored, guided hike to the peak of Lugnaquilla in the Wicklow Mountains on Saturday 23rd July. We are thrilled and very grateful that this hike will be led by Niall Ennis, an International Mountain Leader and Maria O'Loughlin, ReWild Wicklow member and qualified Lowland Leader.
Lugnaquilla is the highest peak in the Wicklow Mountains and the highest in Ireland outside of Kerry. The route we will take is 13km with an ascent of 750m and we expect it to take 5-6 hours to complete.

This fundraising event will be to raise funds for our Snapshot Europe project. An initiative that will see the most extensive camera trap monitoring of mammals in Ireland ever, happen right here in Wicklow, across September and October. Snapshot Europe began last year and just 10 camera traps were deployed as Ireland's contribution to this Europe-wide report on mammals. This year ReWild Wickow are partnering with the UCD Wildlife Department to raise funds for as many camera traps as possible and our volunteers will deploy and monitor them. Read more about the project here.
A full camera trap setup costs €218 and, as a special thank you, every fundraiser who reaches this target will get the opportunity to name it. Every image we share online will mention the name of the camera it was captured on.
YOU can be a part of this and put Wicklow at the forefront of European conservation. Every mammal recorded becomes more protected. Please donate towards this project by sponsoring someone taking part in this fundraiser.
We also have a limited number of spots still available for anyone who would like to take part and join us on the day, get in touch with us here to find out more.
