Hello everyone, my name is Sabrina and I am George Scavetta’s daughter. I am reaching out to family and friends with this GoFundMe to help my mother and family during this very difficult time. (My mother is a breast cancer survivor who works as a healthcare provider but has currently put work on pause at the moment to care for my father.)

My father, George, has been in Mather Memorial Hospital since his fifth stroke on February 9, 2025.  He was admitted into ICU February 12th. This stroke was a massive bilateral brain stem stroke, causing paralysis of his body, and inability to swallow or communicate. On top of a stroke he is dealing with pneumonia and a blood clot in his right leg. He’s been on a ventilator since the 12th and recently had a tracheostomy and Robotic/Laparoscopic Jejunostomy done . My father’s had endless MRI, brain activity studies, CT scans, chest X-rays, sonos etc. We are asking for everyone's prayers that my father George makes a full recovery. However, his prognosis is unclear at this time. George has a very long recovery ahead of him.  Your prayers and your faith are what he needs most right now.

My father was born and raised in his hometown of Rocky Point, Long Island and raised his family in his hometown.  A man who never takes life too seriously, constantly cracking jokes and making those around him smile.  A generous man who would seriously give you his last dollar if he could. Although my father would be very against me doing this, with medical bills piling up, his family is asking for any help you can give. We understand that times may be hard for you but if you can please share this with your friends and family we would appreciate it.  We thank you for your help and ask that you please keep my father George and my family in your prayers. We will update what I can on his progress as soon as we know.
