Reach Out to Help St. Isaac's Monks

Help us stay in our monastery!

Christ is Risen!

Last July we had a terrible natural disaster here at our little monastery.  A wind and rain storm brought down electric lines, felled trees, blew a roof off, and destroyed our Guest House.   Thanks be to God, for no one was hurt.  Our self-supporting work was delayed for seven weeks, our labor force was redirected to reconstruction, and our expenses to fix the damage really added up.

Since then our finances have been stretched beyond our means.  Finally we are in a very tight place!  Not enough money now to even pay the rest of last month's electric bill, or our telephone bill.  Other most basic bills are mounting up.  We are pressed on all sides.

We give our life here to prayer, love, and mercy for others.  To live we need help now beyond what our own handwork can provide.  This is the hardest place that we have ever been in.

Everyone can give a little to help others.  We still give a little of what we have even now.  Please give from your heart, and let us stay here to pray for you and for the whole world, and continue ministering to the people in our local area.  Generosity is the backbone of life in this world, for as we give to others, we become open to receive love and generosity in return.

This Spring is beautiful here now as the grass is growing, the birds are singing, and the trees are filling out their leaves.  We love where we live.  Help us as we have now great sorrow these days and worry because of our great need for the finances to meet our most basic needs.  You can help, and we greatly need your help right now to stay here.

Giving is what God is all about.  The process of giving draws God close to our hearts.  May He reward you  for your every loving thought and gift.  Please pray earnestly now for us and also help us by giving now as much as you can.

Your Brothers in Christ,

the Monks of St. Isaac's Skete
