Hurricane Relief from Dorian
Donation protected
For years now, the Abaco Islands have held a special torch for us. The beauty of the islands coupled with the beauty and simplicity of the people there make it a truly special place. My name is Molly Buchness and I live in Centreville, Virginia. I am heading up this campaign for our dear friend, Sophia, with my two other "musketeers" who traveled to this beautiful place frequently with me.
Hurricane Dorian wiped out not only these beautiful islands, but have taken away the homes and lives of it's inhabitants. While we can't help all of the families, we have chosen to try to help some that are very special to us. ALL of the money raised will go directly to Sophia to help her restart her life, purchase a car, obtain adequate housing, purchase clothing and general necessities that we all take for granted. Essentially, she is starting from scratch.
This is Sophia and her story:
My family and I have been living on the island of Marsh Harbour, Abaco for about 12 years where I've been serving in the public sector. On September 1st, 2019 hurricane Dorian came to the island as a category 5 hurricane and completely destroyed the entire island. We've lost everything. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. The mental and emotional distress is an understatement to say the least. We are asking for assistance to help us get back on our feet no amount is to small.
