Honoring Jesse Battle’s Legacy

Donation protected
It is with the heaviest hearts that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved Poppi, husband, best friend, uncle, son, and grandfather, Jesse Battle, on Saturday, April 11th.

This loss has left our family completely heartbroken. Jesse was not just a part of our lives; he was the heart of them.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Cheri, his grandchildren Savanah, Makaylah, Mattie, and Gracie, and his great-grandson Jesse Gonzalez, his namesake. As well as his mother Charlene, sisters Zena and Denise, along with many others. While these are the ones closest to him, they do not begin to capture the number of lives Jesse touched. If you knew him, you know he had a way of making everyone feel like family.

Jesse’s story began in a world of music and live events. As the nephew of James Battle, a renowned security leader for Bill Graham, he grew up surrounded by live productions. That early exposure turned into a lifelong passion, and Jesse went on to dedicate his entire career to event production.

He became an integral part of thousands of live events across the country. His passing has come as a shock not only to our family but to the many people in the industry who knew and worked alongside him. Jesse was still doing what he loved up until his very last day.

He was an incredibly skilled sound engineer, but more than that, he could do it all. Jesse understood the business from start to finish, and there was not a role he could not step into. He mentored countless people, shared his knowledge freely, and helped shape the careers of so many in the industry.

Jesse was also a huge fan of Journey and had the incredible opportunity to work alongside music he loved. Just last year, he toured with Miles Schon and his band, something he was truly proud of.

To Jesse, his work was never just a job; it was his passion, his pride, and a huge part of who he was. But beyond all of that, Jesse will be remembered most for the way he made people feel.

He was the kind of man who lit up every room. His smile, his laugh, his presence was something you felt instantly. He brought joy, humor, and comfort to everyone around him, and the world feels a little dimmer without him in it.

Right now, our family is facing the unimaginable: saying goodbye to someone who meant everything to us, far too soon.

We are asking for your support during this incredibly difficult time to help cover funeral expenses and to give Jesse the celebration of life he truly deserves. Anyone who knew him knows he would want us all together, laughing, sharing stories, and celebrating the life he lived.

We also hope to support Cheri as she begins to navigate life without her husband, her partner, and her best friend of 30+ years.

If Jesse ever made you smile, helped you, taught you something, or left an impression on your life in any way, we kindly ask you to consider donating or sharing this page. Every contribution, no matter the size, truly means more to our family than words can express.

Most of all, we ask that you keep our family in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate this heartbreaking loss.

We will share more details regarding the funeral and celebration of life later this week.

Thank you for the love, support, and kindness you have already shown. It means everything to us.
