Incident:
As many of our friends and family at Velosophy know, one of our longest standing coaches had an accident on Saturday September 19th - coach Tyler Wardle.
During a a steep descent on a damp corner his brakes locked up and he veered off the road, over a ditch and onto a rock bed.

Prognosis:
At the time we knew Tyler suffered a fractured collarbone and possibly left hip. CT scans confirmed this but further analysis at VGH revealed a fractured skull and hairline fractures at the lumbar vertebrae plus more serious  injuries to his right hip (apparently at this stage he could walk with no pain - good signs I think).  He's at VGH possibly till the weekend and will be under review for his right hip soon and other injuries.

Treatment:
So far, he underwent successful surgery yesterday and Tyler text me himself to say all the staff said it went well and will probably heal faster than expected. From here he will be at VGH for the week for monitoring and hopefully home for the weekend. It will still be a long road to recovery though...

Visitation & Well Wishes:
Visitation is limited to 1 person per day & that's being reserved for family at the moment. We would all like to see him & with patience we will be able to in due time. In the meantime remember that with all the injuries & after surgery Tyler will be immuno-compromised so sending your well wishes virtually would be best. Please be conscious that he might not want to discuss his injuries or the accident so please be thoughtful in your messages (maybe don't expect a response just send your love). I know all of you are already respectful of this as he said he feels the love from all of you already as his phone was blowing up on Sunday - I think he appreciated the morale boost so thank you for already treading lightly and thoughtfully.

Communiaction:
To keep you all in the loop and up to date of his status I will start a whattsapp group with the original Bowen crew - feel free to open it up and add relevant parties to the group.

Contributions & The T-Fund:
There has been an outpouring of love and offerings of help and services from all his friends and family as well as from us and you at Velosophy, despite Tyler not wanting to be a burden on anyone and mostly refusing help when offered - typical of the kind, brave soul he is! They've had meals cooked for them, childcare and lots of support thus far to ease the burden, these services go a long way so - thank you! Thank you! Thank youuuu!!!!

To that end....
.....This GoFundMe T-Fund is to add to that support!
We want to help even if they too nice to accept it!So let's use this find to send them a few dollars forTyler and  family to put towards any type of relief they deem fit in! This could mean payment for Tyler's rehab (if they go private), a recovery getaway or just help with bills or even replace damaged goods from the accident (e.g. all his clothes were cut off at the hospital). Donate whatever you deem fit, no amount is too small and share with anyone you deem appropriate to share with (without spamming of course).

Timeline:
We'll keep this open till Friday October 2nd and then surprise them with it along with a care package we're putting together from Juice Truck and whoever we can get to contribute (if you know anyone, let me know and refer them to my email)
