Since August 2021, the U.S. has welcomed over 70,000 Afghans suddenly forced to flee their country and escape the devastating violence in Afghanistan. These families often arrive with few belongings and need housing, food, home goods, and other basics as they get on their feet.
This fundraiser is for our Afghan Refugee friends who have been resettling in the Pocket/Greenhaven neighborhood of Sacramento. They are a family of 8, and their 10 year old son is our kid's soccer teammate. He attends the local elementary school and his older siblings attend the local high school.
This fund is dedicated to keeping the family in their home(and not get evicted) while the older children find jobs. The rent amount is $2650 + $250 utilities = $2900 per month.
We have contributed ourselves, but we are exhausting our means and funds are quickly depleting, which leads us to asking fellow neighbors, friends and family to help.
Thank you for your consideration to help this great family survive here in Sacramento!
