Our names are Taylor and Hunter Still, we will be utilizing this gofundme to pay for expenses that will accumulate over this next stage of our life.
As most people in our lives know, we’ve recently had our first child—Remington. It has been such a wonderful ride these last six months becoming first time parents to such a ham of a baby boy. ◡̈
It is with great sadness to say that Remington has been diagnosed with retinoblastoma (a cancer of the eye) which is an extremely aggressive form of childhood cancer. It develops quickly and requires frequent treatments by a very specific specialist with the closest being located in Miami, FL.
He has just gone through his first laser pupillary treatment and has bounced back beautifully, but it is expected that he will have to undergo at least one round of chemotherapy to (hopefully) knock all of the tumors out and keep them out.
After that, we are still expecting to travel to Miami, FL roughly every 3-4 weeks for the retinoblastoma specialist to examine him under anesthesia and determine the treatment plan.
With the specialist being four hours there
and back, we expect to stay in a hotel varying from two nights to at most a week—pending whether or not chemotherapy has to be conducted in Miami, FL.
Admittedly, we are proud people who do not want to ask for anything from our loved ones. But with much encouragement from others to create this page, we would greatly appreciate any support with gas, food, hotel expenses, and the like—including the impending medical bills we will be receiving. We have already applied for state assistance to aid us in the many medical bills coming our way for such specific treatments and we are awaiting an answer back.
Anything given will not go unnoticed and it will help us to provide for our happy and beautiful baby boy towards a path of healing.
