Hi, I’m Nathan, “My Sister’s Boy Was Found After a Hit-and-Run – Please Help Save Zeus”
Zeus before the accident — my sister’s loyal, gentle, goofy boy. He deserves the chance to walk, run, and play again.

Zeus’s Marathon Has Ended – Now the Fight for His Life Begins
On the night of 10th August 2025 at around 8:30 PM, my sister’s beloved husky, Zeus, went missing from Bass Hill, NSW.
He isn’t just a dog — he’s her best friend, her family, her everything. When he vanished, she was devastated. She was out searching within minutes, calling his name, making the lip sound he always responds to, and checking every street she could.
We begged people in Bass Hill, Canterbury, and surrounding suburbs to keep an eye out. Flyers went up, social media posts went out, and we reached out to every local vet, shelter, and council. She even emailed all 24 vets and animal hospitals in the area at 2am.
In the middle of this chaos, she discovered Zeus wasn’t even officially listed under her name on the pet registry — so she had to track down his original owner, get a signed statement, print 160 flyers, and find a Justice of the Peace to sign a statutory declaration, all while continuing the search.
She and her friends letter-dropped and walked the streets until their voices gave out. She barely slept — maybe 3.5 hours total — running purely on adrenaline, panic, and hope.

The Call We Dreaded
After days of searching, hoping, and praying, my sister got the call no owner ever wants.
At 3:00 pm, she was told Zeus had been found in Villawood and taken to RSPCA Yagoona. The vets believe he was the victim of a hit-and-run. His back left leg was in a terrible state — hanging by skin and tissue, swollen to triple its normal size, with multiple suspected fractures. He had a cut above his eye, appeared to have bitten his tongue, and may have suffered pelvic damage.
The RSPCA didn’t have the facilities to perform the surgery he needs. They could only provide pain relief and fluids. The moment my sister saw him — surrounded by vets trying to keep him calm — she broke down in tears.
Since the RSPCA doesn’t transport animals, she arranged the urgent transfer herself. Our mum sat in the back seat with Zeus, keeping him warm under blankets, while my sister drove to SASH — one of Sydney’s top specialist veterinary hospitals.

Where Zeus Is Now
At SASH, the nurses rushed Zeus inside. They confirmed he will definitely need surgery.
Right now, he’s medicated, rugged up, and being monitored closely. Tomorrow, he’ll have a CT scan to assess the full extent of the damage to his left and right legs — and whether his pelvis is injured.
The left leg is the worst — he can’t use it at all. The right leg may also be injured, and there’s a real possibility of pelvic fractures.
This surgery is going to be costly. My sister doesn’t have pet insurance — she doesn’t even have health insurance for herself — but she’s determined to give Zeus the chance to walk, run, and live his life again.
