The Lupus Fight

Hi, my name is Crystal Carlton. I was diagnosed with Lupus in 2018 and since then it has truly been a fight. I’ve had frequent hospital stays, long days and nights laying in pain, being weak daily and causing me not to be able to work.

Back in May my lupus flared back up after a year of no hospital stays and not much pain, but this time it hit harder than the last. I was hospitalized for over a week and it was the worse week of my life I feel like. I had a catheter replacement to start dialysis again after not having to have it for two years. Which I have to attend 3 days a week. I am in kidney failure and have also been placed on the transplant list.

The last two months have been a major struggle for me. I have not been able to work, fully due to me constantly having joint pain and not being able to stand for long periods of time and I get tired very easily. Due to me not being able to work full time, my income has decreased tremendously and I have now received a 30 day eviction notice and my options are very limited. I also have lots of medical bills that I have racked up from all of the procedures and test that have been performed.

I’m a very prideful woman but at this point I am asking for help! I would not ask if I wasn’t in true need. I’m not asking for much but anything helps. It’s truly sad that we don’t have programs and resources to help ones that are sick like me, but here we are!
