My name is Katie and I am starting this page for my mother, Mary.

She was diagnosed in 2023 with ovarian cancer and had to have emergency surgery to remove a 16-pound tumor, ovaries, some of her intestines, and had to undergo a full hysterectomy.

She was then told that she was cancer-free, but in July of 2025, she had a PET scan done and the scan showed an area of cancer localized to her right lung, in which she will have to have surgery to remove a portion of her right lung and the cancerous nodule.

At this time, they are not sure what type of cancer it is and will not know until a biopsy is done.

My mother is one of the bravest, strongest, most loving, and caring women that I know. She loves her family with everything that she has and will do anything for you at the drop of a hat.

My mom had to go on disability due to the cancer and having to do constant doctor's appointments to have checks and blood work to see if anything else is going on.

My mother would never ask for help with anything because that is the type of person that she is, but as her family, we are asking for help at this time.

My mother will be having surgery on August 26th and we are just trying to have a little money set aside for medical expenses, groceries, and utilities.
