In a quiet English town in the 1940s, Henry, a retired private investigator turned humble shopkeeper, is drawn back into the world of mystery when a mysterious woman named Edith arrives at his shop with a chilling warning.

She suspects that the town’s new vicar, John, is hiding a terrible secret that may be linked to the sudden disappearance of his predecessor, William.

Unable to ignore his instincts, Henry begins a subtle investigation, infiltrating John’s life by feigning friendship. Through calculated lies and careful manipulation, he gains the vicar’s trust, sharing drinks and war stories at the local pub. But beneath John’s composed facade, something is deeply wrong.
