Fix our roof!

Here at Mini Explorers Childcare, we pride ourselves on being able to deliver high quality and interesting learning opportunities and experiences for the youngest members of our community. This term alone we have heavily invested in providing sports sessions, forest school sessions and dance classes to our children.

Unfortunately however we have been the victim of anti-social behaviour from youths in the area that has caused extensive damage to our roof causing a leak into the children's play space. This is after they had previously caused £250 damage to our skylight. We had to pay £400 for additional security measures to prevent them accessing the roof further but the damage was not discovered straight away.

In an effort to ensure the children were able to remain in a safe and secure environment, we enlisted some emergency roofers to repair the damage. The roofers charged us £6000 and we later found out that they did not do the work they were enlisted to do, overcharged us, and still left us with a large hole in the roof. We have been quoted a further £4000 to fix the remaining damage, which we are hoping insurance will cover this remaining amount.

We are hoping to recouperate some of these costs so that we continue to spend this money where it matters most, on the children!
