My name is John Loftus and I am a senior at Daniel Hand High School in Madison, CT. In February of 2015, I began working on a documentary about the Elephant in the Room Boxing Club, a non-profit organization located in the heart of New Haven, CT.
Devonne Canady, founder and executive director of EIR, provides an outlet for the youth of New Haven through the sport of boxing, fostering sportsmanship, discipline, confidence in one's self, and health and well-being.
Through my film, I hope to raise awareness for the Club and its remarkable story, and the issues that the New Haven community faces on a daily basis.
EIR runs on private donations. 100% of the money donated through this page will be given to the organization.
Mrs. Canady and the EIR staff are true heroes and it is time their story and intentions become known.
