Update 11/4/25: Kane is at the vets, and getting X-rays done. The costs were $800. His first exam on 10/31/25 was a cost of $207. It’s truly not about that but I was told some people might want to know this information. Thanks again, for donating. It’s truly gonna help save a family member.

Greetings, my name is Kayla, and I am the guardian of Kane, a German Shepherd, under one year of age. Kane embodies vitality, enthusiasm, and affection. He enjoys receiving big hugs and giving them, playing fetch and running laps around the yard.

Unfortunately, since October 30th, 2025, Kane has experienced a severe injury to his left hind knee, which no longer extends properly (possible torn ACL). His condition has deteriorated; he now hops and struggles to stand while going potty.

Although medication has been administered, it has caused adverse effects, yet Kane’s desire to play with his ball remains undiminished. Neither Kane nor I comprehend the cause of this injury, but we have formulated a plan.

Kane has been examined by veterinarians, and we have obtained estimates for diagnostic imaging (x-rays) and surgical intervention. His grandmother is assisting with the costs of imaging, but we face financial challenges regarding the surgery.

Kane is determined to live a full and healthy life. He is part of a large family, including a nine-year-old boy and a six-year-old pitbull sister, all of whom deeply love him.
