Hello everyone,
We are raising money for our dear friend Sonya Chan (22), Saunders Chan (20), and their mother, Monica Wu(60).
On the morning of April 6, Monica unexpectedly collapsed from a heart attack. Sonya found her mother on the ground and immediately called 911 while Saunders gave Monica CPR. Unfortunately, the heart attack was exacerbated by Monica’s existing health concerns, and caused even more health complications. Her mother has been unconscious at the hospital since then, and doctors have told Monica’s children that it is likely that she will not wake up. If anything happens to her, Sonya and Saunders will be left to fend for themselves.
Furthermore, Sonya has only recently found out that her mother still owes $150,000 in mortgage payments for their home. Each month, as the primary bread-winner of the household, Monica has been secretly overworking herself, to the detriment of her health. In order to pay the $3500 monthly mortgage payment, she barely scraped enough money together to keep the home and support her family. This is the house that Monica has worked so tirelessly for, the house that has been in her family for years. She bought this house so she can build a home for her children. Sonya and Saunders lived in this home all their lives. Now, it is something that can be quickly taken away if they can’t come up with the money.
Sonya's family is having a hard time dealing with everything at once right now, so we are trying to ease their worries and let them have more time to focus on Monica.
