Tragically taken too soon

My name is Scott Fichter. My nephew Christopher Decker was tragically killed in an automobile accident during the early morning hours of September 5. My sister Patricia Fichter-Davis (Trish) had called to let me know what had happened when police officers came to her home this morning to deliver this news.

Christopher was not yet 36 years young and was loved by close family members and many friends. I am blessed to think about my most recent communications with him as his uncle, friend and confidante and even as my heart has been broken with this news, I am comforted by the last pleasantries we shared in those last conversations, while I try to deal with the personal loss myself.

The only comfort that could be offered to Trish was that it was very likely that Christopher died instantly and would not have suffered. The suffering resides in the hearts of his loved ones. Especially with Trish as it's any parent's worst nightmare to lose a child.

In an effort to assist my sister with costs associated with funeral arrangements for Christopher, I am reaching out to the compassionate kindness of others to find it in their heart and soul to contribute as they can. It is very humbling to ask this of others, but my sister lives a very modest life with her husband who is bedridden with serious health issues of his own as he's being cared for in a nursing home. To now be faced with the sudden loss of her youngest and beloved son is more than she can handle. Any offer to assist my sister during this devastating time would be greatly appreciated.
