For those who don’t know my name, I’m Adalisa and I am battling cirrhosis. In 2011 I was diagnosed with what’s called biliary duct disease, basically what that means is that my healthy liver tissue is now scarred. That scarring blocks the flow of blood through
the liver and slows the livers ability to process nutrients, hormones, drugs and natural toxins.
Being diagnosed to me was the worst thing that could have happened to me, it has truly been an emotional rollercoaster. I went from being 21 and alive full of energy to feeling like an 80 year old woman slowly dissolving before my eyes. My eyes change to a neon yellow my skin turned to a green yellow tint all the things you could think of to ruin someone self esteem, I don’t make eye contact and I feel like a freak that everyone stares at when I walk by. It took me years to finally come to the acceptance that these were the cards handed to me and it was my job to show it off in a good way not caring what anyone thought. God was putting me through my toughest test I could ever imagine. 8 years later still waiting on a transplant fingers crossed any day now I’ll get my call. This journey has been over whelming from taking 20 different medications to, itchy skin, or constant back to back hospitalization because of my immune system being so weak. To the point where I caught pneumonia and my heart nearly stopped and the only way to save me was putting me in an induce coma to remove fluid in my lungs from build up flem and water retention. Upon wakening I had lost so much oxygen to my brain that I had a stutter thank god that’s gone and I had to learn how to walk again alone and tho now I walk funny I did that and over came that obstacle as well .. stronger then ever and a bit closer to transplant currently at the top of the list I’m happy and ready for a new life a new me. If you find it in your heart to help me and size donation helps I need to come up with 4000$ to cover after surgery medications not covered by insurance.
