We here at For the Love of Punk like to help bands whenever we can. Especially bands that travel nearly non-stop to bring great music across the world. That brings us to Red City Radio van meltdown 2016. These guys are one of those amazing punk bands that nearly tours non-stop. With touring non-stop means being low on money, wear & tear on their van and themselves.
Well it happened yesterday. The RCR van had its last day and decided to call it good in the NV/AZ desert (could it have picked a worse place?). So Team FtLP and Russian Girlfriends discussed options and we decided to do this GoFundMe . The RCR dudes are too kind to ask for help, which is exactly why we want to do this for them. My last words to them were - we are doing this, you will take the help & you will like it.
RCR originally paid $7k for their van. Today they are scrapping it for $250, as a result of not opting to spend $2,800 on a repair for a vehicle that may be worth $3k. Now they have the incredibly costly task of renting a vehicle to get them all back to Oklahoma that has a trailer capability to get all their gear back. Then get a new van, pay off these costs, and get back to touring. We have set the GFM for $1,000 but anything helps!
So we ask that you can help get these guys and their gear back to Oklahoma, help them get a van, so they can keep on keeping on. Any amount helps & they will get every penny we raise (minus the tiny % this site takes). Please share...spread the word. Do it!
