RCMA's campaign for R.C.M. ACADEMY

Dear Community,

In the year 2003, its founder, a young military officer wrote, 'there is a need to consider the principles which should guide the promotion of higher education, learning, physical training, research and creating global leaders in lifelong learning in the field, classrooms and digital commons...among the nation’s youth', and in 2004 he convened a special group of like mind officers, educators and other subject matter expert to make recommendations. The recommendations of that group saw the unofficially creation of what was to become Canada’s first and only coeducational military school – academy in the year 2005.

In the year 2006, the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC), ‘now Universities Canada’ officially granted its authorisation entitling for the Academy to be federally incorporated. As such, certain Letters Patent under the Act, did constitute, order and declare the creation of R. C. M. Academy in the year 2006, the Academy (RCMA) has undergone several stages of reorganisation that reflect the evolution of the professional development and training of students.

In the year 2008, certain Notification of Registration were granted and issued by the Charities Directorate in accordance with the Canada Income Tax Act officially constituting its charitable status for the advancement of education and such that benefits the community in a way the law regards as charitable.

The School, which birthed in 2003 by a young visionary officer, today is the only coed Primary to University Entrance Military School in the country, was commended by organisations and individuals for its character education and training programmes, its inclusive approach, and its mission to advance education within its unique military context.

Based on its restructuring, reorganising and positioning to educate and meet the needs of the next generation of our global community, in late 2020 the Academy unofficially named itself (Trade Name/Operating As): Royal Military University School.

As Canada’s only bilingual primary to university entrance military school, it educates, train and provide higher learning and outreach programmes for students in both official languages, it inspires overall excellences, fitness and ethical leaders who will contribute to our global community. The school is the fine art of imparting education.

Together, we learn better. As we seek to advance a balance education for our nation’s future leaders, our priorities are skills and talent, student/faculty research and innovation, equity, diversity and inclusion, indigenous education, social impact, global experiences and military historical exhibits and studies for the purpose of imparting knowledge on the next generation of global citizens.

Founded on military foundations. The school will offer students a well balance curriculum and a coeducational training programmes that teaches citizenship, the natural environment, sustainability, ecosystem, adventure and field crafts both in and outdoor learning programmes that encourages creative interest, physical activity as well as a sense of responsibility. As such, bring students, ideas and resources together to understand issues, explore creative solutions and be a catalyst for long-tern change.

By operating in this manner, we will able to fulfill our original mandate of providing meaningful opportunities to ex-military members of the Canadian Armed Forces or Her Majesty Armed Forces to help in the training of minds and advancing knowledge beneficial to student’s academic success and providing them with quality education based on real life experiences. As such, provide meaningful employment opportunities that meets the needs of our veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces, Her Majesty’s or Allied Armed Forces, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, other paramilitary services, college trained/qualified teachers and others subject matter experts who wish to contribute to the development of students mind and well-being.
