As Brinkley's mother what I have realized walking beside her through this  journey with Chrons disease is that life is not only a series of Mountains but indeed Mountain ranges.I have watched her climb for over ten years. I do know that it's not about the destination. It's not if we have shoes or enough supplies but it's our perspective that we can choose to have and the glorious beauty in the midst of ashes. Brinkley has chosen to take this path. I am humbled to see her navigate through such difficult circumstances.

I could not be prouder or more grateful for being chosen as Brinkley's mother. It is one of the biggest privileges and a gift that I have received. Beyond being brave and courageous Brinkley has taught me how to dig deep for hope it when it seems impossible. Not to focus merely on the destination but to embrace the day...the joyful moments in it rather than magnify the challenging obstacles she faces daily. I call it...digging for diamonds. It takes lots of work and discipline and many days of going home empty handed just to wake up and do it again.

Brinkley was diagnosed with Chron's at nine years old. She has had five  surgeries during the past decade. The last one was emergency surgery on Christmas Eve of 2018. This disease has been relentless and we continue to believe for healing. However, there are many layers to her health issues that have been a tremendous load for our family to carry. 

With any long term disease it attacks from many avenues and it has pulled every last source of nutrient from her little body. This includes her beautiful smile. She has a very extended list of procedures she needs to go under anesthesia  for. She needs two dental surgeries to complete the work needed to get her teeth back to general health. These surgeries need to happen ASAP.   Besides the daily chronic pain of Chron's now the dental issues have taken it's toll on our sweet girl. We are asking for help from those who are led.
