Life can change in an instant.
On March 28, 2015 Jim was involved in a tragic motorcycle accident in Lakewood, Colorado. Fortunately Saint Anthony's Level 1 Trauma Care Center was minutes away and he was rushd into surgery. Trauma surgeons worked on Jim's many injuries for five hours, however they could not repair his badley damaged left leg and had to amputate above his knee. Both hands were shattered as well as severe injury to his right arm. Jim also suffered Diffuse Axonal Injury to his brain and deep bruising throughout his body. He has had to undergo a tracheostomy, has developed pneumonia and has a blood clot in is leg. He has undergone five surgeries in thirteen days and has received fourteen pints of blood. Jim is still recovering in the ICU critical care unit at Saint Anthony's.
Jim will require special medical attention and rehabilitation along with alot of hard work to regain his strength. It is hard to say how much he will need to see him through this difficult time but we are starting today in the hope that you will join us.
Let's get together for Jim!
Please do all you can for him; pray, send love and healing energy, whatever you can to help him recover!
We love you Jimmy!
We are all here for you!
Thank You for your support,
The family & friends of Jim Southworth
-We know most of you have stories about our Jimmy; the fun , the crazy, the absurd... Please feel free to write on this site!
