As most of you know, the past few months have been very hard on our family. Justin is stationed in California, away from his family which is hard on its own, and we have now decided to temporarily foster two little girls who are very close to our hearts. They are two of the most amazing babies we've ever had the pleasure of meeting, and we are so happy to have the opportunity to help them and their family. However, the expense of having twin 4 month olds in the house in addition to our own 2 kids, have added up quickly and put us behind on almost all of our bills. In just 2 months, we've gotten over $3000 behind on bills, due to the high costs of formula, diapers, clothes, baby equipment, family emergencies, etc.

On April 30th, an uninsured, unlicensed driver, hit our parked car, causing over $12,000 in damages. Thankfully, no one was in the car, and the other driver was not hurt, however our car was not insured at the time. We were lucky enough to have the owner's insurance company pay for most of the damages. However, before they decided to fix it, we paid over $2000 out of pocket for insurance fees, towing, and mostly storage. We then had to pay $700 to fly Justin home for our foster care interview, and to deal with the the insurance company from the accident.

In order to finalize the foster care paperwork, we also have to have our dog, Gixxer, vaccinated, which will cost us an additional $230.

We have been getting rid of un-needed items in the house, cutting out all other unnecessary expenses such as cable, lowering our monthly grocery expenses, etc. We should soon be receiving payments from the state for becoming foster certified, which should help out with monthly expenses a little bit, but are in a tough spot in the meantime.

Any help you can give will be greatly appreciated, even if it's just kind words, a prayer, or whatever it is that you wish to give.

Thank you all for your support.

Love,
the Red Family

*We were very excited to hear that we are receiving free plane tickets for Justin to fly home for the Fourth of July- courtesy of Operation Homefront.  This will give him some time to spend with the family before he leaves for deployment in the fall. If you can't make a donation to us, please consider donating to this fantastic program in the future. They're an amazing organization that helps thousands of sailors get home for the holidays, in addition to providing many other things such as school supplies for military kids, thanksgiving meals, etc.
