Levi’s Fight

Hello everyone. It was recommended we start a fundraiser for medical expenses, loss of work, etc. So here we are.
3 weeks ago Levi’s appendix ruptured and he had it emergently removed at st Luke’s in Cedar Rapids. A week later he was re admitted and transferred to the university of Iowa as he developed a very large abscess and ileus. He had a drain placed, stayed for 5 days and got iv antibiotics and seemed to improve. A week later (Christmas day) Levi was once again admitted to University of Iowa Children's Hospital for his post surgical complications. Levi has new abscess locations that are not accessible to place drains based on their location. The only way these are accessible is an extensive surgery which would leave Levi with a colostomy bag so we are hoping to avoid this. For now we are continuing iv antibiotics. Levi is having a picc line placed in the next day and will start getting IV nutrition called TPN due to him losing over 20% of his body weight in the last 3 weeks. During this time both Mitch and I have been off work to be with Levi with an unknown return date.
