RBS Gimmel Fire Fund for Displaced Family
Donation protected
Last Tuesday there was a fire in our neighborhood, Ramat Beit Shemesh Gimmel. Baruch Hashem, no one was physically injured.
The apartment of the family next door to the fire was badly damaged and much of contents are destroyed/unusable. Sadly the family are renters who do not have insurance (Israeli family, many children BH).
We are collecting funds for:
- a specialized cleaning crew who will clean the apartment and determine what is salvageable
- repainting and repairs as necessary
- a fund for them to purchase personal items, schools supplies, clothing, etc
Money is strongly preferred right now because:
- they are in urgent need of personal items that can not be donated
- they do not have a permanent location and can not accept large quantities of items that may not be good match for them
- they are not in the emotional state to sort through (well-intentioned!) hand-me-downs
I know the family personally and will be personally delivering the money. If you prefer to give cash instead of online you can message me to arrange a pickup or drop off.
I will also collect linens and backpacks or school supplies or 'like new' clothing that are in very good condition. But they are more in need of money than anything else.
Purim is fast approaching, let's open our hearts and give what we can to lift this family up.
