On the 7th June 2022, we received the devastating news that our 7 month old shihpoo Penny has mitral valve dysplasia. This is a congenital heart disorder which is progressive and will at some point lead to heart failure. We have started her on medication to try and delay this for as long as possible but hers is quite severe and we are unsure how long the medication will help. The only cure is for her to have open heart surgery, but unfortunately there are only two clinics in the UK that currently offer this and it is a very expensive surgery. The estimated cost of the surgery is between £15,000 and £20,000, and unfortunately our insurance is unable to cover it.

 

For that reason we are kindly asking for any donations to help towards this cost. Penny has made our lives so much better and we will do anything to try and save her. She is the happiest little dog you’ll ever meet, you would never know she has such a serious disease. Any support would be so greatly appreciated as we fight to save the life of our beautiful Penny.
