RBK is delighted to support the ‘Oncology / Haematology Patient Comfort Fund’ at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Tullamore, which is used to try to improve just that, comfort for their patients.

Oncology/Haematology Department, Tullamore

The Oncology / Haematology Department at MRHT opened in 2001. This department comprises a Day Unit and Inpatient Unit and is part of the Dublin Mid-Leinster Network and caters to the people of Longford/Westmeath and Laois/Offaly.

Their service treats a variety of patients with Oncology and Haematology malignancies as well as non-malignant haematological disorders. Treatments provided include chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies and immunotherapies. Patients may need admission either due to side effects of treatment or disease progression. A supportive service is also provided for their patients when the aim may not be to cure. Such patients are admitted to the Inpatient Unit, working closely with their Palliative Care colleagues.
