Harold Johnson, a 64-year-old Primcorp Security Guard was assaulted on the morning of Friday, Aug. 12th near the Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden during his routine morning patrol. When he asked the suspect to pack up and move along, Harold was allegedly punched a number of times in the face resulting in multiple injuries: broken nose, lacerations above the eye and possible nerve damage.
A beloved community member, Chinatown advocate & guard at Primcorp since 2002, Harold was looking forward to retirement next year. Sadly, after Friday's violent incident, retirement will be coming earlier than expected. The Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Garden Society of Vancouver will be collecting funds for Harold Johnson to show our gratitude and appreciation for his 20 years of dedication and commitment to the Chinatown community.
