Biary Family
From Gaza
Help my family evacuate Gaza for URGENT medical treatment.
My name is Sohail Biary and I was born in Gaza, Palestine in 1971. I now reside in the California and was present in Gaza when the most recent onslaught begun. I was able to escape the war but wasn’t allowed to bring my family with me.
Today, we urgently ask for assistance for my family trapped in the life threatening circumstances of Gaza. This family of seven, comprising the father, mother, the father's sister, and four children, faces a multitude of challenges that threaten their very existence. The mother of the family is battling cancer, a fight she embarked on just two months before the outbreak of the devastating war. Tragically, her treatment was abruptly halted due to the conflict, leaving her in urgent need of medical care outside the confines of Gaza.
However, numerous barriers obstruct her path to seeking treatment abroad. She finds herself amidst a staggering queue of over 10,000 patients awaiting approval to leave Gaza, a queue that has seen only 450 fortunate souls granted passage thus far. Regrettably, her number in the queue stands at 1425, implying a waiting period of potentially over two agonizing years.
Adding to this plight is the heart-wrenching condition of her 16-year-old daughter, Jumana, who suffers from brain atrophy and relies on a feeding tube for sustenance. The onset of the war has exacerbated Jumana's already delicate condition, with the unavailability of essential medications further deteriorating her health. Compounding matters, the specialized diet Jumana requires, consisting of infant formula and blended fruits, has become an impossibility following their displacement from Gaza City to Rafah City, where essential food items are scarce, including milk.
Furthermore, the mother's caregiving responsibilities extend to her two-year-old child, who depends on her nurturing presence amidst the chaos of war. The tender embrace of a mother is a source of solace amidst the fear that pervades the hearts of children during times of conflict.
In light of these challenges, the only viable solution to safeguard the mother's life is for the family to travel together, as only the father and the father's sister remain to provide care for the children, who range in age from 2 to 16.
We ask you to join us in extending a lifeline to this family by supporting their journey to Egypt for vital medical treatment. Your generosity can emancipate them from the specter of death that looms ominously over every corner of the Gaza Strip. Together, let us rally behind my family, offering hope where despair threatens to consume them.
