Help the Rudenko family settle in Canada

As many of you may know, our family immigrated to Canada from Kyiv, Ukraine in 1999. The war on Ukraine has been an extremely emotional and heavy-hearted time for us as we have many friends and family still living there in the very moment.

To try and help in as many ways possible, we are going to be hosting the Rudenko family; Liubov, 59 (mother), Maryna, 37 (daughter), Oleksandr, 20 (son), Yehor 16 (grandson) at our house in Whitchurch-Stouffville.

Liubov, Maryna and Yehor managed to escape their hometown of Irpin after their family home was destroyed. They grabbed their documents and in the clothes they were wearing commenced their journey to nearby towns, eventually arriving in Poland.

They were able to meet Оleksandr, who has been studying in Poland, and stay in his student housing until their application to come to Canada was granted. On May 6th the four of them will arrive at Pearson Airport.

We are hoping to raise additional funds to help them with everyday essentials as they acclimatize and settle in and eventually find employment and set up to live independently.

If anyone has clothing they are willing to donate, we will happily come and pick them up.

Yehor: X/XL, shoe size 11-11.5

Oleksandr: XL, shoe size 11.5-12
